About the Club
Welcome to the Prius Club of Queensland Inc. We welcome visitors to this site, and particularly to our Discussion Forum where Club members will endeavour to answer any questions you may have about the Prius. New owners are most welcome to join the Club.
The Club is for owners of the Toyota Prius in Queensland, Australia, to promote the exchange of information and discussion on these hybrid vehicles. Club members meet in person every 2nd Monday of the month in Brisbane. The Club organises events and outings for the whole family.
The Club was formed in August 2006 and was registered as an incorporated Association in Queensland in September 2007. We have also established a Sister Club relationship with the Prius Club of San Diego.
Senator Andrew Bartlett (Australian Democrats, Qld), a Prius owner himself, has kindly agreed to be the Club’s Patron.
Club members are eligible for discounts on Toyota service and parts, as well as access to group buys on Prius accessories not normally available in Australia.
All Prius owners are most welcome to join the Club. Click on the link below for membership details: Joining the Club

The Prius
The first Prius made available outside Japan was released in 2001, and the current second-generation Prius was a complete re-design featuring Hybrid Synergy Drive and released in 2004. Worldwide sales reached half a million vehicles in mid 2006.
With current concerns over greenhouse gas emissions and increasing fuel prices, the Prius is a car of the future, featuring low fuel consumption usually below 5L/100km. The Generation III Prius (2004 onwards) is certified as an Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (AT-PZEV) by the California Air Resources Board. This certification means the Prius has near-zero tailpipe emissions and zero evaporative emissions. It is one step cleaner than the previous generation’s Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) certification.
The car delivers impressive performance, since it is able to take advantage of the power of both engines when a power boost is called for.
The vehicle is also packed with other advanced features, and Prius owners tend to be people who appreciate good design, advanced technology and who seek to reduce their emissions footprint on the planet.
